Ross Lynd was born in Melfort, Saskatchewan on September 16, 1951. Lynd played in the Manitoba Senior Baseball League for 11 seasons, during which he won the league championship twice. His first win was in 1972 with the Binscarth Orioles, and the other was in 1975 with the McAuley Blazers. During this time, he also participated in three national championships. Lynd’s reputation as one of the most dependable Canadian pitchers in the league led him to success abroad, playing for the Zillmere North Stars in Brisbane, Australia for one season. In 2006, Lynd was inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame.
