Terry Lynd was born in Moosomin, Saskatchewan on July 10, 1954. Lynd was a great outfielder for 17 seasons in the Manitoba Senior Baseball League (MSBL) with the McAuley Blazers (1973-’83, ’89), and the Moosomin Generals (1984-’88). He had batting averages of .421 in 1981, .417 in 1983, and .468 in 1986. His 1986 batting average won him the league batting title, and he has a lifetime batting average of .333. Lynd was a first all-star 11 times and a second all-star three times in his career. He represented Manitoba seven times at western Canadian or Canadian championships. In one of these games, Lynd hit a three run homer in the top of the ninth to give Manitoba an 11-9 win and a bronze medal at the 1976 nationals in Fredericton, New Brunswick. In the 1985 nationals in Kentville, Nova Scotia, he won the tournament batting title and his team won bronze.
