Lee Fisher was born in Roblin, Manitoba. Fisher spent four years with Roblin in the semi-pro Manitoba-Saskatchewan league and nine years in the Polar League with Flin Flon. He was a winning pitcher and even hit a home run against the touring Cuban All Stars to win the $1000 prize for his team. Fisher was an outstanding pitcher with great control, and a specialist with the two fingered knuckle ball technique. During his nine years with Flin Flon in the Polar League, Fisher won the junior league batting crown with a .511 average and he was once awarded the Top Pitcher title.
