Gerry Marcotte

Gerry Marcotte was born in St. Pierre-Jolys, Manitoba. Marcotte was a stellar catcher for over 25 years. He was a big, powerful hitter, who also had a strong throwing arm. Marcotte led Transcona to the Winnipeg Senior League championships in 1938 and 1939, and he was league MVP in 1955. At the time of retirement, Marcotte was considered the most important player in Transcona baseball history. He was also a very good hockey and football player.
