Don Reid

Don Reid was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on October 22, 1928. Reid was an excellent player with Rosedale as both a juvenile and junior player. His team was league champions in 1947, and runners-up the next year. Reid went on to join the Carman Cardinals for 1949 and part of 1950. He then joined Selkirk in the Winnipeg Senior League for the remainder of the 1950 season, where he pitched a one-hitter against St. Boniface, who later that year would be league champions. The next year, Reid joined the that very team, the St. Boniface Native Sons, for the following season. He was also a good basketball player with the University of Manitoba, and he excelled in golf and lacrosse as well. Reid went on to become a very successful actuary.
