Wes Rathwell

Wes Rathwell was born in Nesbitt, Manitoba. Rathwell played junior baseball with Nesbitt before playing nine years with Riverside from 1951-60 in the South Central League. In 1968, Riverside won both the Manitoba Championship and the Western Canada Championship. During this season, Rathwell had a batting average of .329 and an on-base percentage of .458. He was an all-star in 1965 and 1968. Rathwell went on to coach the junior Riverside team, Wawanesa, and Glenboro. He also coached the South Central League All-Stars in four Western Canadian Championships, and won silver once. Rathwell played, coached, and umpired for over 35 years.
