Brian Reid

Brian Reid was born in Carman, Manitoba on October 15, 1953. Reid was a power-hitting outfielder. He began his career with the Neepawa Cubs of the Manitoba Senior Baseball League (MSBL) in 1974, and just one year later he was named an MSBL all-star. Between 1980 and 1989, he was a dominate hitter for the Carman Goldeyes. Over the course of his time there, he won three awards for his runs batted in, two for his home runs, a batting champion award, and a sportsmanship award. In 1984, he was named Redboine League MVP and Baseball Manitoba’s Senior Player of the Year. Reid began coaching in 1993, and in 1995 he was head coach of the midget Carman Goldeyes team, who were provincial and western Canadian champions. From 1994-97, he coached teams to three Manitoba midget AAA championships. In 1995, he was named Manitoba Baseball Association Male Coach of the Year.
