Dick Campbell was born in Minto, Manitoba on July 4, 1924. Campbell farmed at Minto and was a Riverside outfielder for 14 years. He also spent 30 years as a meticulous scorekeeper working alongside blind announcer, Maurice Meyers for Riverside. Campbell was also president of the Manitoba Senior Baseball League (MSBL) from1971-75 and he was inducted into the Manitoba Baseball Association Honour Society in 1976. Campbell was serving as a director of the MSBL at the time of his death.
