Russ Reid

Russ Reid was born in Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba on April 14, 1947. Reid was a pitching ace for most of his career. He pitched for the Brandon Colt All-Stars from 1962-63, helping them win the Western Canadian Championships in 1962. This set him off on an outstanding career playing for the Brandon Canucks (1964-65) and the Brandon Junior Greys (1965-66). While he was with the Greys, they won two Manitoba Championships and were also runners-up for the Western Canada Championship both times. Reid joined St. Lazare Athletics in 1966, where his pitching record was 4-1. In 1967, he helped the Brandon Parklane Juniors win the Canadian Junior Championship, then he moved on to the Manitoba Senior Baseball League to play for the Riverside Canucks from 1968-69. The Canucks were Western Division champions in 1968, and western Canadian champions in 1969.
