Al Evason

Al Evason was born in Dauphin, Manitoba on January 7, 1939. Evason was a brilliant outfielder with the Dauphin Redbirds from 1956-1963. He was with them when they won titles in the Northern League in 1956, a Manitoba-Saskatchewan title in in 1958, and a Manitoba Senior Baseball League (MSBL) title in 1961. In 1961, Evason was a MSBL all-star left fielder and had a .438 batting average. He was the the top hitter with the Bowsman Maroons in 1963 and with Thompson Reds from 1968-73. He was also the leading hitter with Flin Flon’s Cardinals from 1964-66.
