Lorne Lilly was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on November 1, 1934. Lilley was a well known pitcher during his playing days, and even attended the Chicago Cubs’ training camp in 1959. Lilley played on many teams, including Cardale, Rapid City, Melita, Lyleton, Brandon, and Riverside. In his coaching days, Lilley led his Bisons team to the provincial championship in 1974, and won the provincial championship in 1995. In this season, he was named all-star coach of the South Central League. Lilley coached multiple other teams over the years as well, including youth teams in Brandon, Neepawa, and Cardale. Over the course of his career, Lilley coached at every age level from little league to senior. He even found himself umpiring at times.
