- Les was an infielder and pitcher for the Souris Cardinals in 1981, 1983-1987
- Played for Riverside in 1988 and 1990, and briefly in 1991 and 1993
- He was named as a MSBL 1st team all-star in 1989
- In 1985, 86′, 87′, 88′, 89′, and 1990, Les was named a 2nd team all-star player
- Obtained a career batting average of .300
- Pitched 411 career innings, which included 384 strikeouts
- Showed solid fielding abilities when he wasn’t pitching as he locked down the left side of the infield
- Competed for Team Manitoba
- Dual sport athlete while excelling in hockey for the Souris Elks Senior team
- Selected as a 1st team all-star in 1989, which helped him earn his spot on Team Manitoba for the Canadian Western’s in St. Albert, Alberta
- Member of the Bison team who earned the national championship gold medal in Sarnia, ON in 1981
