Willie Berezinski was born in Binscarth, Manitoba on November 25, 1935. Berezinski started playing senior baseball with his hometown Binscarth at the age of just 16. He also played with the Buffaloes, Orioles, the Dauphin Redbirds, and the Holar All Stars (Saskatchewan). He won the first ever Manitoba Senior Baseball League batting crown in 1961 with a .549 batting average. With the Redbirds in the Manitoba Senior Baseball League, Berezinski consistently hit over .333, and was known as a quiet, humble, and talented good sport. In one of his games, Berezinski singled to spoil southpaw Bill Cundiff’s bid for a no-hitter game, which is emblematic of his batting excellence against great opposition. Berezinski was previously inducted into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003 with the Holar All Stars Team.
