Corey Billaney

Corey Billaney was born in Boissevain, Manitoba on March 2, 1977. Billaney began his career playing for his local Boissevain team, and between 1993 and 1995 he was chosen to be a member of Manitoba’s youth team three consecutive times. When he was just 17 years old, he began playing for the Boissevain Centennials in the Southwest Baseball League. During his time playing for Boissevain, Billaney’s lifetime batting average was .388 and he was selected fourteen times to the Southwest Baseball League’s all-star team. Billaney also played in the Manitoba Senior Baseball League with the Neepawa Farmers and the Birtle Blue Jays. In 27 out of 28 seasons from 1990-2017, Corey played in at least one Provincial, Western Canadian, or National Championship. Billaney was a member of three teams who have previously been inducted into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame, including the Boissevain Centennials, the Neepawa Farmers, and the Birtle Blue Jays. Following his playing career, Billaney became the manager of the Boissevain Centennials who continue to be a dominate team in the Southwest Baseball League as well as in senior baseball within Manitoba.
