Mike Genthon

Mike Genthon was born in Rembrandt, Manitoba on February 11, 1916. Genthon started his 25 year pitching career in 1932. He was a left-handed hurler, and played for St. Charles, St. James, and the Canadian Ukrainian Athletics Centre Blues prior to World War II. During the war, Genthon starred for a navy team. Later, he pitched for Transcona, St. Boniface Native Sons, Sacred Heart, and several other rural teams such as Fannystelle and Lundar in tournaments. Along with Les Edwards, another Manitoban and fellow inductee, Genthon played for three months with the House of David, after they lost two regular pitchers who injured in a bus accident.
