Jeff Bouchard was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on February 1, 1965. Bouchard played for St. Boniface early in his career, and helped his team make it to two national championships in 1979 and 1981. In 1982, they made it to Westerns. Bouchard then joined the St. Boniface Legionnaires of the Manitoba Junior Baseball League in 1984, and went on to win all-star honours for three seasons. Bouchard’s season in 1985, however, may have been his best. He won league MVP in the Manitoba Junior Baseball League as well as Baseball Manitoba’s Senior Player of the Year Award with the St. Boniface Native Sons. Bouchard also attended the Canada Summer Games in 1985, where he hit at an astounding .450 average, leading his team to a silver medal. His St. Boniface Native Sons Senior Baseball Club team won the Red Boine Senior Baseball League trophy consecutively from 1989-1993, and again in 1995. During this time, they also won multiple Provincial Senior championships during this time. Bouchard began coaching in 2000, and has since coached multiple U13, U15, and U18 teams, including the Bonivital Black Sox, Team Manitoba, and the Winnipeg South Chiefs. In 2015 and 2021, Bouchard won Baseball Manitoba’s High Performance Coach of the Year award. As a coach, he continues to find success and has led multiple teams to National and Western Canadian Baseball championships.
