Jamie Hodgson was born in Brandon, Manitoba on April 14, 1971. He was an all-round talented player with a career that lasted over 20 years. Because of his skill, Hodgson quickly found himself on teams such as the 1989 Manitoba Youth team and the 1989 Team Manitoba for the Canada Summer Games. Following these achievements, Hodgson was a 14 time Manitoba Senior Baseball League (MSBL) all-star, he played in seven MSBL championships, and was MSBL Batting Champion in 1999, 2002, and 2003. Over the course of his career in the MSBL, Hodgson accumulated a batting average of .375. He played in a total of eight national senior tournaments over his time in the MSBL. Before his MSBL career kicked off, Hodgson even played in the US, where he pitched for the Kansas City Royals in the minor league.
