Chris Hofer

Chris Hofer was born in Warren, Manitoba on July 31, 1971. Hofer began his playing career in the Interlake region. In his junior years, he spent most of his time playing in Selkirk, Manitoba. Hofer quickly became a standout player in Manitoba, and he was added to the Team Manitoba roster during the 1989 National Youth Tournament in Brandon, Manitoba. From 1990-92, he played at the National Baseball Institute in Vancouver, British Columbia. Once back in Manitoba, he began playing for the Grosse Isle Blue Jays. In 1994, he was named Senior AA Player of the Year, and he also earned MVP honours at the Senior AA Championship. Hofer later played with Stonewall, and success followed him. While playing with Stonewall, he was part of championship teams in 1997, 1999, and 2000. Throughout his playing career, he found success playing third base and pitching. Hofer also had a knack for hitting important home runs. He was previously inducted into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame as a part of his Grosse Isle and Stonewall teams.
