James Gordon

James Gordon was born in Belmont, Manitoba on October 11, 1922. Gordon was a superior right-handed pitcher and left-handed power hitter. In 1952, he starred for the Belmont A’s when they won the Central Manitoba Baseball Association Crown. He was a great tournament hurler in the 1940s and ’50s, during which years he started playing baseball in late May and continued until early fall. Gordon pitched for and against the Brandon Greys and Muskogee Cardinals, as well as some other talented American teams. Gordon’s nickname was “Babe”, and he also played hockey, curling, and golf.
