Glennis Scott

Glennis Scott was born in McConnell, Manitoba on February 18, 1936. Scott was a great pitcher with McConnell, Cardale, Hamiota, Carman, and Miami in league and tournament baseball. In the 1967 Pan-Am Games, he had a 1-1 record against Cuba, who was a powerhouse in baseball at the time. Scott won two games at the 1969 Canada Games in Halifax, and he pitched two games for Team Canada at Cartagena, Columbia against the United States and Columbia in 1970. In the Canadian Senior Championships in Brandon, he won games over Alberta and Prince Edward Island. At the World Championships in 1972, he had a 1-1 record (4-1 over Honduras, 3-4 to Costa Rica) and in 1973 he won silver as Team Manitoba’s manager in Burnaby, British Columbia. Scott was later player-coach for Team Canada at the Intercontinental Cup in Bologna, Italy, and he coached or managed Manitoba teams to medals at Kenosee Lake, Pointe aux trembles, Burnaby, North Battleford, Vancouver, Fredericton, St. Albert, Regina, and Saskatoon. Scott also held various offices for the Manitoba Senior Baseball League, Baseball Manitoba, and Baseball Canada.
