Garth Neville

Garth Neville was born in Binscarth, Manitoba on January 21, 1948. Neville was known as an amazing pitcher. Most of his career was spent with Binscarth, including when they won the Northwest League title and the Manitoba Senior B title in both 1970 and 1971. Binscarth began playing in the Manitoba Senior Baseball League (MSBL) in 1972, and Neville won both the pennant and senior title that year with his familiar team. Binscarth won the title again in 1977. Neville later played for Teulon in the Redboine League in 1979, during which season they won the pennant. He was an MSBL first-team all-star in 1972, and a second-team all-star in 1973, ’74, ’75, and ’77. He pitched for Team Manitoba at the Nationals in 1973, ’75, and ’76. Neville also pitched for Team Canada at the World Championships in Nicaragua in 1972, at the Continental Cup in Rome in 1973, and at the Pan-Am Games in Mexico City in 1975.
