Thor Sigurdson was born in Eriksdale, Manitoba on July 5, 1928. Sigurdson was an outstanding pitcher in the Interlake region during the post-war years. He possessed a good fastball, a drop curve, control, and wisdom on the mound. Sigurdson served as a player and coach at Eriksdale, and he oversaw them through many of their dominate years. He also pitched for Warren and Stonewall in the Winnipeg Senior League.
