Steve Clark was born in Cayuga, Ontario on October 21, 1917. Clark started his playing career in Windsor, Ontario, and arrived in Brandon in 1947 to play with the Brandon Greys. He played three years with the Greys, and then played with the Mental Hospital and Shilo. Clark joined the Cloverleafs in 1954 and starred of four teams that won Central Manitoba Baseball Association titles. Clark then retired as a baseball player, but soon became an exquisite fastball player with the ANAF (Army, Navy, Airforce) Vets from Brandon. Clark also became a well respected umpire in both baseball and softball. In 1989, the city of Brandon named the #1 diamond at Curran Park “Steve Clark Field”.
