Mike Foster

Mike Foster was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Foster had a 26 year career in Manitoba baseball. He began his career by playing two years in the Manitoba Junior League before heading to Mayville State University. Upon returning to Manitoba, he played in the Redoine League for 14 years and in the Manitoba Senior Baseball League (MSBL) for ten years. He was considered an integral part of each team he played for. Foster was chosen to be part of six provincial AAA teams, including 13 times at Western Canadian and Canadian championships, where his team won two gold and two silver medals. Foster was named to numerous all-star teams, including six during his time in the MSBL. In 1998 he led the Legion 141 Veterans to the Manitoba Senior championship, hitting .800 in the finals series against Birtle and going 5 for 5 in the final game. In 1995 he was part of the Redboine League All-Star team that defeated the Canadian national team as it prepared for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.
