Tony Kalechyn was an infielder for 32 years for teams in Grandview, Rossburn, Binscarth, Angusville, and Neepawa. Tony was on 5 Senior B championship teams. He was named to MSBL first or second all-star team in 1975, 76, 77, 78, 79, 80 and 83. Tony was a member of two Team Manitoba squads at Western Canadian championships and of one squad at Nationals in New Westminister. Kalechyn coached minor and Senior teams, was organizer of Parkland Minor Baseball and Provincial Grassroots delegate. Lately Kalechyn was involved in baseball facility maintenance including CanWest Global Park for 1999 PanAm Games. Tony was also an active coach in volleyball, basketball, badminton, and track and field.
