Mike Labossiere was a catcher with the Virden Oilers from 1969-74 and Hamiota Red Sox from 1975-89. Mike was an MSBL 1st team all-star 11 times, a 2nd team all-star 6 times, and the MSBL MVP in 1982. Labossiere was also on six MSBL championship teams. Mike was named as the second team catcher on MABL`s 40 year all-star team. Labossiere played in 9 Western Canada championships, 7 Canadian championships, and 3 World championships. He also played for Team Canada at the World Championships in 1978 in Bologna, Italy and in 1980 in Tokyo, Japan. Mike was also on Baseball Canada coaches` committee 1987-present, prepared three coaches manuals, authored “Getting Started in Baseball,” and conducted coach evaluation at 1997 National Selects in Stonewall. He was the MBA Course Conductor and High Performance Committee member; and a New York Yankees scout from 1987 to the present.
