Les Edwards was one of the best players ever to come out of Winnipeg. He was an outstanding pitcher, good outfielder and power hitter for the Norwood Juveniles, Strathcona Juniors, St. Boniface Seniors, and Norwood Seniors. Les played for McIntyre (Ontario) Miners, Halifax Defense (RCAF), Memphis Chicks (Class AA), Gadsden Pilots (Class B), Henderson Oilers (Class C), Greenville Bucks (Class C), Muskegon Clippers (Class A), St. Hyacinthe, Edmonton, and Penticton (he was Mr. Baseball in Penticton). Edwards was the president of the Manitoba Senior Baseball League from 1965-66.
