Gary Blaine was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on April 19, 1933. He was an outstanding catcher and power hitter throughout his career. Blaine played with may teams, including the West End Memorials, Rosedale midgets and juniors, River Heights Cardinals, Winnipeg Buffaloes, St. Boniface Native Sons, Fort White, and Bowsman. Blaine was an avid sportsman, golfer, and professional hockey player, even attending the Washington Senators’ training camp in 1950.
