Brian Hodgson was born in Pilot Mound, Manitoba on October 13, 1942. Hodgson was an excellent left-handed pitcher. His career started in Manitou and Pilot Mound prior to 16 seasons with the Brandon Cloverleafs in the Manitoba Senior Baseball League (MSBL). Hodgson once pitched a 3-0 no-hitter in the MSBL finals at Kinsmen Stadium, leading Brandon to win the crown in 1963. Hodgson was a second team all-star on the 40-year all star team, and won seven MSBL titles (1966, ’67, ’69, ’70, ’71, ’76, ’80) and seven Manitoba crowns (1963, ’66, ’69, ’70, ’71, ’76, ’80). Hodgson also played with the host all-stars in the 1970 Canadian championship in Brandon and for team Manitoba in 1973 at Edmunston, New Brunswick, where his team was silver medalists. Hodgson played internationally for Canada in Cuba in 1971.
